The year marches on and it's hard to believe we're leaving another summer behind and welcoming autumn! It has been another summer of extreme weather events. which seems to be the pattern we're now living in. I hope that you and your whānau weren't too badly affected and that you were able to enjoy summer in between those events.
Active Benefits
The start of autumn means that winter also isn't too far away, so now is a great time to check out the Active Benefits that we offer. UniMed's Active Benefits give you access to a range of tailored wellbeing services, early health detection tools and expert advice to support both mind and body - at no additional cost.
One of the relevant Active Benefits at this time of year is the flu vaccine. While the vaccine is free to certain groups, if you aren't eligible for a free one, UniMed reimburses flu shots up to $45 per person, per year.
Thinking about nutrition and fitness is also a great way to keep yourself healthy as winter approaches. A few weeks ago, we hosted our latest UniMed Active Benefits webinar on this topic in partnership with Teladoc Health. Teladoc shared some simple advice to break unhealthy habits, navigate nutrition trends and get started on your fitness journey. You can view a recording here.
This session is part of a broader webinar series we're delivering this year, designed to give you deeper insight into your health and wellbeing. Keep an eye out for the next invitation.
Rules Review Update
In our December HealthChat we mentioned that the proposed updates to our Society Rules would be shared with you in the new year. The work to prepare the updated Rules has taken us a bit longer than expected.
This is the first comprehensive review of the Rules since 2012, so we wanted to ensure that all aspects of the Rules had been well tested to deliver the strongest governance for the Society in the future.
